Privacy & Cookies
This site is run by KnxLogic (Wayne Du Bruyn), a KNX home and building automation integrator in South Africa. This page explains what information we collect when you use knxlogic.co.za, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and respond to enquiries.
Information you give us
When you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you submit, and use them only to read and reply to your enquiry. The message is delivered to our inbox by our email provider (Resend). We don't sell it or use it for marketing.
Information collected automatically
We use two kinds of analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it:
- Vercel Web Analytics & Speed Insights — privacy-friendly andcookieless. They record aggregate visit and page-performance data and don't identify you or set cookies.
- Microsoft Clarity — gives us anonymised heatmaps and session replays (how pages are clicked and scrolled). Clarity does set cookies and is processed by Microsoft. We use it only to improve the site's usability.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or marketing cookies. What's stored on your device is:
- Microsoft Clarity analytics cookies (e.g.
_clck,_clsk) — to measure and replay site usage. - A small local-storage flag (
knx-cookie-notice) that just remembers you've dismissed the cookie notice, so it isn't shown again.
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings — the site still works without them.
Who processes your data
- Vercel — hosting and cookieless analytics (privacy policy).
- Microsoft Clarity — usage analytics (privacy statement).
- Resend — delivery of contact-form emails to us (privacy policy).
Your rights (POPIA)
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. To exercise any of these, just email us.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as we need to respond and for our ordinary business records. Analytics data is retained according to each provider's standard retention periods.
